Every time i look at one of the pictures w Syd i have a bitter tingle in my heart, I feel like i could of met him and i wish i was there with him to meet the great mind and person he was, and not just him also Floyd through out the years. Him and Floyd have the best music EVER!!!! dont care what others say this has so much deep but a soft personal deep, and i know you all felt this when u heard one of the songs that moved you, you felt like it all made sense and that that song has been with you for ever. it was like this for every song for me... well ALL that music has inspired me and shaped me and now im on the task of creating a Psychedelic band and becoming another voice of The Piper.... oh and to collect All vinyl records of Floyd and Barrett... wish me luck and let us not forget those pioneers who brought some reason to the human race.

Roger "Syd" Barrett has been a major influence in my life as a musician/songwriter. When I do come to England I am most certainly taking a pilgrimage to Cambridge to see the hometown of the band that has infuenced so many American musicians. I can relate to the struggles that Pink Floyd and Syd's family must have endured while watching Syd lose his grip on "reality" as I have witnessed my own brother lose grip on his mental state over the past several years.

Syd Barrett seemed like such an amazing person. My life for Pink Floyd is just beginning and so is my love for Syd Barrett but I'm eager to learn so much more. I was actually shocked to find out that my parents, who are Pink Floyd fans, didn't even know that he was the original lead of the band. I don't think he's given enough credit. If rodger didnt have his illness he would have been a bigger and better songwriter than lennon+mccartney or jagger and richards. I 1st heard the piper at the gates of dawn 3 years ago and its now my favourite album "a masterpiece". I can remember the day he died in summertime 2006 and one of the best original musicians ever is now at peace with himself.

I have long been a fan of Pink Floyd, and in particular the erratic genius of Syd. I find it sad that people found it necessary to pursue him after he left the band, and somehow I'm certain this was not something he appreciated.

Regardless, his influence on music in particular is unmistakable, irrevocable, and everlasting, and I for one am grateful for his presence on this rock we call Earth. Sleep peacefully Syd...your job is well done.

I had the blessing of meeting this incredible man. We spend a long night talking of so very many things. It as an insight of a extraordinary soul who seemed to feel outside of life not part of it. Syd changed my life, defined me from 9th grade high-school which was 1977. He only had to sing the lines of scribbly-black and everything SHINES!! I hope history remembers Syd and his extraordinary contribution. He gave the world Pink Floyd.

Great website. Syd was one of rocks true visionaries. I was deeply saddened when I heard of Syd's passing. I am a working musician who plays a Fender Telecaster identical to the one Syd used in the early days of Floyd. It is one of my prized possesions. Syd was a tremendous influence on musical journey. Rest In Peace my good man.
